A to Prevent From Golf Injuries

Many people find the dress code surrounding golf strange but all sports have them. Obviously only the best will do so you will need to go to a specialist outfitter to have yourself kitted out. While every club is different, some aspects can be regarded as similar wherever you go. Remember, many golf courses will refuse to allow you to play if you are not dressed appropriately. This can leave you flustered and upset when you are not allowed to play your favorite game, just because you could not adhere to their dress norms.

Golf Injuries

Several things about men and boys are unwelcome on the golf course. The two most universal are concerned with shirts - any shirt worn by a player must have a collar and sleeves. The likes of running shoes (usually they have metal spikes) and jogging wear are also not allowed. Avoid wearing clothes with repulsive logos or obscene messages on them. Men in addition to women are also forbidden to wear denim of any kind or foot ware that can be considered a sandal.

A man can, if he chooses, wear shorts and if he is sporting pants, they must be fitted - foot ware must be either proper sporting shoes or those especially designed for golf. Golf shoes must only have the soft spikes fitted because if a golfer wears shoes with metal spikes the will be asked to leave as they make extra work for the groundsman with the damage the bring. Shirts can have long or short sleeves and you can always wear a turtleneck or a sweater. The socks that are worn must be at least ankle length and should be a solid color with only minimal and tasteful logos.

If you are a woman, you are still expected to wear a fitted shirt with either shorts or skirt. Usually women are not allowed to wear any type of trousers, including jeans shorts. One of the considerations that you should take into account is the length of the shorts and skirt because they must generally be no shorter than 5 inches above the knee. But then, every golf course has its own rules regarding such matters. A woman’s shirt must also have a collar and once again a v-neck style sweater is allowed.

However, a woman can wear a shirt that is completely sleeveless or have short sleeved (providing it has a collar). Their socks must be ankle length with proper golf shoes (or sports) and if they wish a hat or visor if they prefer. Socks must be a solid color, with minimal logos and tasteful designs. When taking along a guest to play alongside you, the same regulations apply - there are no exceptions because they are a guest. As stated above the exact dress code for the golf course where you play may vary, a quick check of their website, or a quick phone call should clear up any questions you have in regards to what is appropriate and what is not if you have any questions.
